Life is most enjoyed when we give ourselves away.

So many people live miserable lives because they live like misers —afraid to give and let go. What holds us back from living generous lives? It is fear. Giving our all in the past and getting hurt in return may harden us and cause us to be afraid to give. But God does not want us to live in fear as it not only prevents us from giving to others but it also limits us from receiving God’s blessings in our lives.

Proverbs 11:25 says that, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” As we open up ourselves generously towards others, God also allows us to experience an overflow of His blessing and favor. Whatever we sow to God and His kingdom,He makes sure to give back with many folds! The key to abundance is a generous life. This 2016, it’s high time to live big by giving big!

At any point in life, you can have a new beginning.

Don’t we just love new beginnings? More often than not, fresh starts are preceded by crucial turning points: periods of hardships and desperation, times of trials, long stretches in the crucible. Rather than being discouraged, we need to understand that these are actually our defining moments; tests come to launch us into our new beginnings. God purposed that the fires of trial bring out our finest qualities to make us fit for the new beginning He has prepared at the end of it all.
No matter where you are in life right now, here’s God’s promise for you: “Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! It springs up, do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:18-19) Our God is a God of new beginnings and He gives us chances to start anew!New Beginning - thumbnail

Life requires that you defy gravity.

In our quest towards our goals, we will encounter many roadblocks: inaccurate labels heaped upon us, unfair judgment passed onto us. It becomes all too tempting to settle and plant our roots onto our comfort zone – never venturing out, never taking risks.
Here’s the thing: when we let these control our life, we miss out on our destiny. God has already planted seeds of greatness within us. Nurture them and grow. When you fully grasp His promise in Jeremiah 29:11 (“For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you”), we have no reason to stay within the confines of our comfort zone.
There is no bigger tragedy than an unrealized destiny. This 2016, let’s make a commitment to challenge our limits and defy gravity!DefyingGravity-Thumbnail-440x330

Life is all about saving lives.

News flash: life is not about you. Our life’s purpose is bigger than a fancy job title or report card, greater than our net worth, and higher than our social status. It is only in Jesus Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for.
Mark Twain famously uttered, “The most important day in your life is the day you were born and the day you find out why.” We were not saved just so we can reap the benefits of heaven. We were saved so we can usher others too into knowing the One who can give them lasting freedom!

Life began at the manger.

It never fails: as soon as December rolls around, holiday festivities take over. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the season, we must never lose sight of the reason for the celebration! We already received the best gift more than 2,000 years ago – and it wasn’t found underneath the most glamorous tree. The world’s Savior was born to Mary and Joseph in a humble manger. Through the birth of Jesus Christ, we gain a “wonderful counsellor, mighty God, everlasting Father, and prince of peace.” (Isaiah 9:6).
Truly, Jesus is the key to a merry Christmas!
